Softball Recap: Apache Junction Takes a Loss

Apache Junction extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-13. They lost 23-5 to the ALA - Ironwood Warriors. The Prospectors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for ALA - Ironwood, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-15 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For ALA - Ironwood's part, Salem Taylor was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Taylor has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emma Gonzales, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Apache Junction will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Prospectors will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last nine matchups. As for ALA - Ironwood, they will head out to challenge Benjamin Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
