Baseball Recap: Lowry Comes Up Short

Lowry lost against Spring Creek on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Buckaroos fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 13-12. The Buckaroos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jakob Bauman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 4-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Lowry's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Bryce Niblack, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Lowry's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Spring Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lowry is set to face off against their familiar foe Churchill County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Spring Creek will take on rival Fernley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for the Spartans: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Vaqueros have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
