Leo got themselves on the board against Lincolnview on Monday, but Lincolnview never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Leah Shappell, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Lincolnview off the board. Shappell has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Leo's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lincolnview, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leo will face off against South Bend Riley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Lincolnview, they will be playing at home against Ottoville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
