Basketball Game Preview: Moorefield Yellow Jackets vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions

Moorefield is 2-8 against Tucker County since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Moorefield Yellow Jackets will take on the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 5:45 p.m.

Moorefield came up short against Petersburg on Friday, falling 56-33.

Meanwhile, Tucker County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 61-50. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 17th in West Virginia, while the Rams are ranked 148th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moorefield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Tucker County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.

Moorefield took a serious blow against Tucker County in their previous matchup on February 6th, falling 70-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tucker County's Trevan Bonner, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 22 points.
