Big Seven recap November 13, 2013
Holton extended the longest winning streak in Big Seven this week by beating Mulvane, 35-14. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
Hiawatha lost to Silver Lake 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Holton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ethan Holaday threw for 31 yards and Andrew Aeschliman had 31 yards receiving. On the ground Brenden Hampton chipped in 219 yards.
Brooks Barta's team's dynamic duo of Holaday and Aeschliman proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Hampton was a beast in the backfield as the Wildcats bested Mulvane.
Hampton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Holton defeated Dave Fennewald's team.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Santa Fe Trail's Weston Gloss and Tyler Mundy have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Gloss has thrown for 1,362 yards this season, while Mundy has 58 catches for 868 yards. The Wildcats' Hampton leads the league in rushing yards with 1,374.
Holton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 897 from 1,159. The improvement was largely due to a 35-14 victory over the Wildcats last week.
