Volleyball Recap: Culver City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lawndale on Monday, Culver City came back down to earth. The Centaurs came up short against the Santa Monica Vikings on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Centaurs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Santa Monica scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-21.

Culver City's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-11. As for Santa Monica, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

As of now, neither Culver City nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
