Soccer Game Preview: Mercy vs. Duchesne

The Mercy Monarchs will challenge the Duchesne Cardinals at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mercy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Skutt Catholic, who was ranked tenth at the time (Mercy was ranked 15th). The Monarchs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SkyHawks on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Duchesne also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Mercy by a score of 3-1.

The Cardinals' goal came courtesy of Josie Quattrocchi, who's now up to 22 this season.

Mercy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4. As for Duchesne, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Mercy was able to grind out a solid victory over Duchesne in their previous matchup on Monday, winning 3-1. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
