Baseball Recap: Nevis Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Nevis's offense. They came up short against the Cannon Falls Bombers on Friday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nevis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devan Lindow, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Lindow is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Nevis' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cannon Falls, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nevis will square off against Pine River-Backus at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Nevis' pitchers better be ready for this one: Pine River-Backus has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Cannon Falls, they are taking a road trip to face off against Park Rapids at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
