Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sophie Lee and Addie Gehres Lead West Lafayette to Victory

West Lafayette waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the South Putnam Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading West Lafayette to victory were Addie Gehres and Sophie Lee. Gehres had 19 assists and two aces, while Lee had seven digs and three aces. Gehres has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last nine times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why South Putnam lost, don't look at Lilah Holderfield. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and one assist.

West Lafayette's record is now 9-4. As for South Putnam, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Coincidentally, West Lafayette and South Putnam will both be playing Pendleton Heights the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will head out to face the Arabians at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
