Football Game Preview: Jefferson Forest Cavaliers vs. Glass Hilltoppers + How To Watch

The Jefferson Forest Cavaliers will square off against the Glass Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson Forest's defense has only allowed nine points per game this season, so Glass' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Jefferson Forest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Heritage, who was ranked eighth at the time (Jefferson Forest was ranked 18th). The Cavaliers fell 20-14 to the Pioneers on Friday. Despite 253 more yards than the Pioneers, the Cavaliers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Forest got top-tier performance from Xander Coleman, who rushed for 170 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 45 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Glass entered their tilt with Brookville on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged out the Bees 23-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hilltoppers have posted since August 30, 2024.

Jefferson Forest better keep an eye on Jhalil Holloway. He was instrumental in Glass' win, rushing for 77 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 123 yards on six of 13 attempts. Holloway also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Hilltoppers are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-5 otherwise.

Glass didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Vinceon Edwards.

The defeat snapped Jefferson Forest's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-2 record. As for Glass, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
