Basketball Recap: Damian Henderson II's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Benedict at Auburndale over Evangelical Christian

St. Benedict at Auburndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Evangelical Christian. While losing is never fun, St. Benedict at Auburndale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Evangelical Christian is ranked 67th).

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damian Henderson II, who posted 11 points and six boards. Henderson II is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Trey Taylor was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 15 points.
