Soccer Game Preview: Beaufort Academy vs. Marlboro Academy

The Beaufort Academy Eagles will take on the Marlboro Academy Dragons at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Beaufort Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Patrick Henry Academy with a sharp 5-1 win. The victory was nothing new for Beaufort Academy as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Grady Lamm and Nych Underwood scored all five of Beaufort Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 44 goals.

Meanwhile, Marlboro Academy's game on Wednesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They blew past Mead Hall Episcopal School 4-1. Winning may never get old, but Marlboro Academy sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Beaufort Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those eight matchups. As for Marlboro Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Beaufort Academy beat Marlboro Academy 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
