Baseball Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss

Aztec was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parowan Rams.

Cadin Anderson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

Even though they lost, Aztec hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matches.

Aztec now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Parowan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Aztec will square off against North Summit at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Parowan, they will face off against Grand County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Grand County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
