Soccer Game Preview: Hempstead vs. New Waverly

The Hempstead Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the New Waverly Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hempstead lost 6-1 to Royal on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Falcons are ranked 212th).

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday New Waverly sidestepped Sealy for a 4-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

New Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Hempstead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Hempstead suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to New Waverly in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Hempstead avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
