Baseball Recap: Passaic County Tech Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Passaic County Tech had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the West Orange Mountaineers 12-2 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 24 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jackson Burger got the start for Passaic County Tech and what a start it was: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, Burger posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May.

At the plate, Mickey Gilligan was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last four games. Another player making a difference was Randis Rosario, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The win was the seventh in a row for Passaic County Tech, bringing their record up to 34-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Orange, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 22-9 record.

Passaic County Tech has already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Ridgewood on the 5th. West Orange does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
