Basketball Recap: Jordan Comes Up Short

Jordan had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons and fell 78-40. The Red Jackets lost against the Gryphons in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 57-49 score last time.

As for Academy for Classical Education, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 67.7 points this season.

Academy for Classical Education had a senior duo take command as Camden Bailey went 10-for-16 en route to 26 points in addition to seven boards and five steals and Bryson Vincent posted 18 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. The game was Bailey's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brady Balkcom, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Coming up, Jordan will host Pike County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Academy for Classical Education, they will venture away from home to take on Jefferson County at 7:30 p.m. on the 9th.
