Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mount Calvary Christian Academy came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They greeted the New Year with with a 38-23 win over Great Hope Baptist. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 35-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Mount Calvary Christian Academy to victory were Carson Howell and Jentzen Wade. Howell posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Wade went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Howell is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Great Hope Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Great Hope Baptist, they will take on Gill Grove Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gill Grove Baptist will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Great Hope Baptist surely won't give up without a fight.
