Basketball Recap: Boone Drops Highest Score of Season Against Windermere

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boone). They strolled past the Windermere Wolverines with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 62-45. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Wolverines are ranked 524th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kailani Mcgowan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. That was a full 37.8% of Windermere's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Nogueira, who put up ten points and three steals.

Boone's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Windermere, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Boone wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-42 victory against University on the 4th. As for Windermere, they have also already played their next contest, a 62-35 defeat against West Orange on the 4th.
