The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Canaries considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Yassine Zekkaria made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Zekkaria was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, William Allen let Jorge Inoa and Daniel Rivas run wild. Inoa went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Rivas got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Allentown Central Catholic was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitehall. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Allentown Central Catholic moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for William Allen, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. William Allen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Allentown Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
