Calipatria's loss ends five-game winning streak on the road

It was a good run, but the Calipatria Hornets unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Imperial. Calipatria was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Imperial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

David Scariano was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds for Imperial. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jared Nixon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Calipatria's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Imperial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calipatria will take on Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brawley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Imperial, they will be playing at home against Calexico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calexico has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 171 points over their last three matches.
