Basketball Recap: Kamren Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Spearfish over Harrisburg

Spearfish has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Harrisburg Tigers. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 77-53 to them when the teams met on Saturday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Spearfish lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kamren Davis, who posted 11 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Vavruska, who put up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Spearfish smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Spearfish's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Harrisburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Spearfish wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-40 win against Mahpiya Luta on the 21st. Harrisburg has also already played their next match (against Roosevelt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
