Basketball Recap: Minford Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

After losing to Warren the last time they met, Minford decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Minford Falcons strolled past the Warren Warriors with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 47-30. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Warriors are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warren's loss came despite strong showings from Mackenzie James-McGuire and Rylee Arnold. James-McGuire posted ten points, while Arnold had eight points.

Minford's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points over those games. As for Warren, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Minford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 loss against Wheelersburg on the 3rd. As for Warren, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-38 defeat against Martins Ferry on the 3rd.
