Baseball Recap: Hilmar Takes a Loss

Hilmar lost to Hughson on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since March 18th.

This is the second loss in a row for Hilmar and nudges their season record down to 10-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Hughson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hilmar will take on Ripon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hughson, they will face off against Tokay at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
