Baseball Recap: Matawan Regional Comes Up Short

Matawan Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts Neck Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on Tuesday.

Matawan Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Colts Neck, the win keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Matawan Regional will head out to square off against Holmdel at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Colts Neck, they will challenge Monmouth Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 1.6, the Falcons 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
