Joelden Griffin was dynamite on Monday, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with two or fewer walks. This season, he has an ERA of 3.83 over 38.1 innings pitched.

Griffin's effort led Adrian over Pinckney and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Maples are 9-1 against the Pirates going back to May of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
