Softball Recap: Cumberland Beavers vs. Cameron Comets

Cumberland extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 10-12-1 in the process. They came up short against the Cameron Comets, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 on Friday.

Macy Beecroft made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

As for Cameron, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Cameron's side, Rayna Schroeder was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Schroeder a new career-high. Addison Carlisle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
