Softball Recap: Holy Cross Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Holy Cross never let their opponents score on Thursday. They came out on top against the Westampton Tech Panthers by a score of 4-0. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Panthers on April 9th, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Not much got past Jamie Dunn, who gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Westampton Tech off the board. Dunn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayla Bullock, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Alana McCormick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Holy Cross has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Westampton Tech, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Holy Cross will head out to challenge Steinert at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westampton Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bergen Tech at 4:15 a.m.
