Softball Recap: Celebration Wins Going Away Against Poinciana

Celebration made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Poinciana, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Storm were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Eagles on Thursday. The game was the first time the Storm have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 26, 2022.

Mariah Isabel was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Violet McMahon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Celebration kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Celebration has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs. As for Poinciana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Celebration will host Oasis Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Poinciana, they will head out to take on Windermere Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
