After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meigs, Alexander was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the River Valley Raiders. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Izzy Hixson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Sheets, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Hudnall, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Alexander's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for River Valley, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Alexander and River Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Spartans will challenge North Adams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (553 vs. 162). Meanwhile, River Valley (ranked 569th) will meet Southern (ranked 206th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
