Recap: Ocoee Knights vs. Edgewater Eagles
In what's become a running theme this season, the Ocoee Knights gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by Edgewater at home to the tune of 66-29. The victory was just what Ocoee needed coming off of a 56-27 loss in their prior contest.
Ocoee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Hannah out in front who scored 18 points along with six steals and two blocks. Hannah is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Weiser, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and six steals.
Ocoee is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Edgewater, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocoee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Oak Ridge is ranked 60th, while Ocoee is ranked 55th). Edgewater won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Horizon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Edgewater likes a good challenge.
