Recap: Lennard Longhorns vs. Tampa Bay Tech Titans
The Lennard Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 42-27 fall against Tampa Bay Tech. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lennard of the 36-31 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Kyah Vance was Lennard's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Tampa Bay Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kalese Salter out in front who scored 22 points along with five steals. Salter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Azjannie Culberth, who scored 12 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Lennard's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Tampa Bay Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lennard and Newsome will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Newsome is on a four-game streak of home losses, Lennard an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Tampa Bay Tech, Tampa Bay Tech and Middleton will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Middleton aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since December 12, 2023.
