Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Screamin Eagles vs. Marked Tree Indians

Hillcrest is 0-6 against Marked Tree since January of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Hillcrest Screamin Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Marked Tree Indians at 6:45 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hillcrest took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past KIPP Blytheville, posting a 69-24 win. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Screamin Eagles this season.

Meanwhile, Marked Tree put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over East Poinsett County.

Marked Tree's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Hillcrest, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Hillcrest was taken down by Marked Tree 58-24 when the teams last played back in February. Can Hillcrest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
