Basketball Recap: Jackson Hunter and Jacob Hunter Secure Win for Liberty

There's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They secured an 88-84 W over the Centennial Coyotes on Friday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 89-59 victory the Coyotes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.

Liberty was led to victory by Jacob Hunter and Jackson Hunter. Jacob dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 boards, while Jackson went 10 for 20 on his way to 26 points. Those 11 rebounds gave Jacob a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Miller, who went 6 of 14 en route to 13 points and eight boards.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Liberty's record is now 13-7. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Liberty has already played their next game, an 84-75 win against Boulder Creek on the 28th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 94-54 victory against Lake Havasu on the 27th.
