Recap: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. North Schuylkill Spartans
The Pottsville Crimson Tide waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over North Schuylkill. That's another feather in the cap for Pottsville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kole Becker was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Alvarez, who scored 11 points.
North Schuylkill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Keiter, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Keiter hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Zulkowski, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Pottsville's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for North Schuylkill, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-5.
Pottsville will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for North Schuylkill, they will head out on the road to square off against Tamaqua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
