Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Speedway Sparkplugs

The Monrovia Bulldogs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They strolled past Speedway with points to spare, taking the game 20-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Monrovia also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Monrovia was led to victory by Brayton Belcher and Dominic Kindle. Belcher rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns, while Kindle rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Kindle really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Speedway to a paltry 175 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Monrovia's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Horrace Kollie and his three sacks.
Monrovia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Speedway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Monrovia will be playing at home against Tri-West Hendricks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Speedway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
