Baseball Recap: Arlington Takes a Loss

Arlington lost against Suffern back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Admirals fell just short of the Mounties by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Admirals have suffered against the Mounties since May 4, 2022.

Brady Keenan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Tristan Rivera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Arlington: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cole Mackin, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Arlington has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Suffern, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

While Arlington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
