Glenbrook South is 8-2 against Niles West since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Titans will host the Wolves at 4:45 p.m. Niles West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenbrook South, who comes in off a win.
On Saturday, Glenbrook South needed a bit of extra time to put away Cary-Grove. They skirted past the Trojans 8-7. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Charlie Kurcz looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Nottage, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Ryno, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Niles West came up short against Loyola Academy on Saturday and fell 8-4.
Niles West also got a good showing from Bodhi McDonald, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Eli Ordower was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Kevin Foley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Glenbrook South moved to 4-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Niles West, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-7-1.
