Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Manhattan Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jefferson Panthers took a hard 69-51 fall against the Manhattan Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Eagles are ranked 19th).

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at Tyler Frydenlund. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-13 to rack up 24 points and seven rebounds. Those 24 points gave Frydenlund a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kellen Meredith, who posted seven points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson and nudges their season record down to 10-8. As for Manhattan Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manhattan Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-57 victory against Three Forks on the 15th.
