Volleyball Recap: Cincinnati Christian Comes Up Short

Cincinnati Christian lost against Hamilton back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Big Blue by a score of 3-2.

Cincinnati Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 16-25, 25-18, 18-16.

Loss or not, Cincinnati Christian got some senior leadership from Anna-Kate Young and Lydia Vogelgesang. Young had 20 digs and three aces, while Vogelgesang had ten digs and seven aces. With that strong performance, Vogelgesang is now averaging an impressive 2.2 aces per game.

Cincinnati Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Hamilton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-8.

Cincinnati Christian and Hamilton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 279th) will meet Summit Country Day (ranked 52nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hamilton will square off against Mason at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (349 vs. 11).
