Softball Preview: Madison County Cowboys vs. Hamilton County Trojans        
        
		
            
 Madison County is 10-0 against Hamilton County since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Madison County Cowboys will be playing at home against the Hamilton County Trojans at 7:00  p.m. The last four games Madison County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 On Thursday,  it was close, but  Madison County sidestepped Florida State University High School for  a  7-6 victory.
  JOSIE DRIGGERS made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit (she also only allowed one  walk). DRIGGERS has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. DRIGGERS was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  LOGAN BASS was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.  KYLEE HUTTO was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Hamilton County scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  22-7 margin over Bolles. With that  win, Hamilton County brought their scoring average up to 6.3  runs per game.
 Like Madison County, Hamilton County also got a great game from a two-way player:  Sarah Welch. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit (she also didn't allow any  walks). Welch was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Annakayte Smith was  incredible,  going 4-for-5 with six  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Another player making a difference was  Anna Morgan, who  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with three  runs, four  RBI,  and a  stolen base.
 The  victory  got Madison County back to even at 9-9. As for Hamilton County, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 3-11 record  this season.
 Hamilton County's hitters will have their work cut out for them  on Friday. Madison County has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.4  strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hamilton County, though, as  they've been averaging  only 4.1. Will Madison County keep running through batters, or will Hamilton County buck the trend?

One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  Hamilton County's  Emily Peacock, who   kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.
