Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Mooresville Pioneers
Center Grove is 7-1 against Mooresville since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Center Grove Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Mooresville Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Center Grove will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Friday, Center Grove faced Jeffersonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Center Grove took down Jeffersonville 71-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Joey Schmitz, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Peyton Byrd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Mooresville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Martinsville 83-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Center Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Mooresville, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Center Grove beat Mooresville 82-72 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
