Basketball Recap: Eldorado Sundevils vs. Legacy Longhorns
The Eldorado Sundevils won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Legacy at home and fell 69-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eldorado in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Eldorado saw an underclassman step up: Robert "RJ" Waddell scored ten points along with two steals. Waddell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamarion Durant, who scored five points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Rahjon Chambers, who scored 25 points for Legacy. Aaron Duke was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Eldorado has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Legacy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldorado will take on the Royals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey St. Viator is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Legacy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Western is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
