Softball Preview: Westfall Mustangs vs. Paint Valley Bearcats
Westfall is 9-1 against Paint Valley since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Westfall Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paint Valley Bearcats at 5:15 p.m. One thing working in Westfall's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Paint Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell just short of Washington by a score of 5-4.
Kasarah Cantrell put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Cantrell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Cantrell was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Sophi Stauffer was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Delainey Mannion was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Westfall's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Paint Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
Paint Valley's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them: Westfall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Paint Valley, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Westfall's hitters?
