While Florence's victory against Hayden wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gophers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Lobos on Monday. The Gophers haven't had any issues with the Lobos recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kamie Rice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kassara Espinoza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Melissa Romero, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Florence's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Hayden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Florence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-12 victory against Coolidge on the 23rd. As for Hayden, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 28-9 win against San Simon on the 28th.
