Baseball Recap: West Central Valley Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when West Central Valley and Earlham meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 7-2 to the Cardinals. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

West Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for Earlham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Looking ahead, West Central Valley will face off against Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.44 runs per game on average), something West Central Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Earlham, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-5 victory against A-D-M on the 20th.
