Soccer Game Preview: Providence Grove vs. Wheatmore

The Providence Grove Patriots will challenge the Wheatmore Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Providence Grove has given up an average of 3.2 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Providence Grove managed to slip by East Davidson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Patriots came up short against the Golden Eagles on Monday, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Providence Grove were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Wheatmore's game on Monday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They beat West Davidson by a goal, winning 4-3. That's two games straight that Wheatmore have won by just one goal.

Wheatmore's victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-9. As for Providence Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5-6.

Providence Grove beat Wheatmore by a goal in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 3-2. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
