Basketball Game Preview: Oglesby Tigers vs. Abbott Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Oglesby Tigers face off against the Abbott Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Oglesby got the win against Gholson by a conclusive 48-24. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Abbott waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They really took it to Gholson for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-24 victory. The Panthers pushed the score to 43-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Gholson had little chance of recovering from.

Abbott has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Oglesby, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Oglesby beat Abbott 66-58 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oglesby since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
