Basketball Recap: Jace Riggan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Florida Christian over Harrison

North Florida Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against Harrison on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 85-74 to the Harrison Hoyas. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 485th in Florida, while the Hoyas are ranked 152nd in Georgia).

North Florida Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jace Riggan, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 24 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Freeland, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

North Florida Christian dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Harrison, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

North Florida Christian will face off against St. John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Harrison, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pebblebrook at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
