Softball Recap: Oneonta Comes Up Short

Oneonta came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Boaz Pirates by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaylee Peoples was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Ashtyn Sligh also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Oneonta's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Boaz, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oneonta will head out to square off against Hokes Bluff at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boaz, they will square off against Fort Payne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
