Baseball Game Preview: James Madison Warhawks vs. Westfield Bulldogs

The James Madison Warhawks will square off against the Westfield Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on James Madison, who comes in off a win.

James Madison took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Centreville.

Meanwhile, Westfield fell victim to Oakton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Cougars. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Westfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Knapp, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

James Madison's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

James Madison was able to grind out a solid victory over Westfield in their previous matchup back in April, winning 3-0. Do the Warhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
